"High Smarber" is a spacious, stone built Dales self-catering cottage. Located in Swaledale, the heart of "Herriot Country" in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it faces south, high above the River Swale, with superb views. The lounge The cottage has central heating, 3 bedrooms, a cozy lounge (or living room) with a large working fireplace, and a beautifully updated kitchen with all modern conveniences. High Smarber sleeps six in one king size bed and four single beds. The cottage also has a contemporary washing machine and dryer for the use of guests. The bathroom has been renovated to a high standard with a modern power shower as well as a large, old fashioned bathtub. High Smarber is not only a rental cottage but is also used by its owners for summer and occasional winter vacations. The cottage is, therefore, an inviting place to stay that has many personal touches. The cottage also has an impressive range of local guidebooks about Yorkshire that are available for the use of guests. York, Durham, Hadrian's Wall, Ripon, Harrogate, Fountains Abbey, Rievlaux Abbey, the North York Moors and the Lake District are some of the many points of historic interest and scenic beauty within a day's trip by car.
